일민미술관(관장: 김태령)은 오는 10 월 8 일부터 12 월 27 일까지 1920 기억극장 «황금광시대»를 선보인다. 5개의 전시와 ‘기억극장 포럼위크’로 구성된 «황금광시대»는 1920 년대 민간 미디어 ‘신문’과 ‘잡지’의 기록들을 통해 100 년의 시공간을 이동하며 삭제되거나 잊혀진 당대 사건들을 산책자의 시선으로 재구성하는 포럼(forum)의 장이다.
1920 기억극장 «황금광시대»는 영상, 설치, 공연, 문학, 건축 등 다양한 분야의 동시대 예술가들이 선보이는 5 개의 전시와 ‘1920 기억극장 포럼 위크’로 구성된다. 전시에 참여한 미디어아티스트 그룹 뮌 MIOON, 안무가 이양희, VR 영상 애니메이션 작가 권하윤 등은 이 프로젝트를 위해 1 년 이상 리서치를 진행하여 개인전 규모의 신작을 선보이고, 1920 년대 신여성이자 사회주의 페미니스트 여성들의 관점에서 혁명의 서사를 재구성한 조선희의 소설 『세 여자』(2017)를 전시로 구현한다.
뿐만 아니라, 일민미술관의 고(古)미술 및 근현대 회화 소장작품 100 여 점을 공개한다. 강세황, 김환기, 박수근 등 일민컬렉션의 주요작품들을 건축가 표창연, 1 세대 DJ 하성채와 협업하여 특별히 구성된 전시공간에서 만나볼 수 있다.

Ilmin Museum of Art (Director: Taeryung Kim) presents 1920 Memory Theater The Gold Rush. Consisting of five scenes by contemporary artists from all works of life, The Gold Rush opens the forum to recreate the forgotten or deleted contemporary events, traveling 100 years of time and space to the 1920s and the 1930s via records in Korea’s civilian media, newspapers and magazines from the flaneur’s point of view.
Participating artists of 1920 Memory Theater The Gold Rush— MIOON the media artists group, Choreographer Lee Yanghee, VR video animation creator Kwon Hayoun—unveil new artworks in the scale of their own private exhibition based on the expansive research. Three Women (2017), a novel by a novelist Cho Sunhee who reconstructed the narrative of the revolution in the perspective of the New Woman as well as the Socialist Feminists in the 1920s, is materialized into an art exhibit. More than 100 works in the collection of traditional art and modern paintings of the Ilmin’s Collection will be opened to the public in a unique manner. The Gold Rush will be unfolded in five scenes across the whole exhibition halls of the Ilmin Museum of Art where the traces of the times remain. The Gold Rush surrealistically stages a room for imagination, intertwining the actual records with fiction. Visitors are invited to freely move around the boundaries of 100 years of time and space, which were dotted with paradoxes and contradictions, and to reconstruct the remaining fragment of the records on their own.
