베토벤이 악상을 떠올린 어느 숲속을 모티브로, ‘운명’이 인생의 문을 두드리는 소리를 공감각적으로 형상화한 공간이 펼쳐진다. 〈운명〉에는 자연과 인간의 삶으로 치환된 우주적 상징이 가득하다. 빛과 어둠, 사계절, 음양오행(불, 물, 나무, 바위, 흙), 10행성과 12사인을 지닌 별자리 등 동서양의 운명론과 신화가 전시실을 가로지른다. 관객은 만신 해화암이 무당의 관점으로 해석한 도슨트(오디오 가이드)를 들으며, 소우주에 깃든 상징의 의미를 찾아 무한의 공간에 머물 수 있다. 이 공간은 특정일에 살풀이 굿판, 풍수지리, 별자리에서 영감을 받은 전자음악 공연 등 소규모 퍼포먼스의 무대로 변신한다.
만신 해화암의 오디오 가이드
This section features a multi-sensory space inspired by the grove where Beethoven got his musical ideas for Fate. It is full of cosmic symbols replaced as nature and human life. In the exhibition hall are both Eastern and Western fatalism and mythologies associated with light and dark, the four seasons, the principle of yin-yang and Five Elements(fire, water, wood, metal, gold, earth), the ten planets, and the constellation with 12 zodiac signs. Viewers may stay in this infinite space searching for the meaning of cosmetic symbols, listening to the audio guide of the shaman Haehwaam interpreting the artworks with her shamanistic point of view. This space will also transform into a stage for performances, including an electronic music performance inspired by shamanistic, geomantic, and astrological rituals.
