<사주포차>는 사주(四柱)로 점을 보는 문화와 행위에 대해 관심을 가지는 작가가 관련 연구를 기반으로 차린 상담소다. 태어난 연월일시 네 간지(干支)에 근거하여 길흉화복을 알아보는 사주풀이나 점을 보는 행위에는 인간의 불완전함을 인식하고 위안을 얻고자 하는 바람과 정서가 깃들어 있다. <사주포차>에서는 자신의 성격과 성향에 집중한 사주풀이를 통해 ‘나’의 과거, 현재, 미래를 아울러 생각하고 예측해 보는 시간을 가질 수 있다. 온전한 나와의 만남을 기대할 수 있다.

송지형은 예술가와 예술작품의 사회적 역할에 중점을 두고 작업한다. 인간의 이타성에 대한 인류학적, 철학적 관심을 프랑스 사회학자 마르셀 모스의 『증여론』에 등장하는 주고, 받고, 응답하는 ‘선물’의 구조와 의미로 접근하며 공동체 안에서의 호혜성, 선물 정신 등에 대한 연구를 이어 나가고 있다. 이러한 연구를 장소 특정적이고 관객 참여적인 설치작업으로 구현하며 퍼포먼스 방식으로 치환하고 실험한다.

<SaJu – Fortune telling> is a counseling center focusing on the artist’s interest and research on the culture and the act of telling fortune through “Saju.” Saju is a traditional way of fortune-telling using the four pillars from the sexagenary cycle calculated by birth time, date, and year. In the act of Saju-reading or fortune-telling are imbued wishes and sentiments that come from seeking comfort, as people recognizing the imperfection of the human being. With <SaJu – Fortune telling>, viewers spend time predicting and considering their past, present and future through the readings focusing on their characteristics and orientation. A “wholesome meeting within myself” can be expected in this work.
