<라 로바의 방-부활>은 모닥불 앞에서 늑대 뼈를 모아 놓고 노래를 불러 늑대를 부활시키는 멕시코 전설 속 여인 ‘라 로바(la loba)’에게서 영감을 받았다. 비디오로즈가 2019년부터 시작한 <라 로바의 방>은 마더피스(Motherpeace) 타로카드를 활용한 스토리텔링 워크숍을 바탕으로 하고 있다. 마더피스는 유럽, 남성, 귀족 중심의 권위적인 도상을 배제하고 다양한 인종과 자연적인 도상으로 만들어져 예술적 상상력을 자극한다. 웹아트 형식으로 제작된 <라 로바의 방-부활>은 타로카드를 뽑듯 10개의 카드 중 3개를 뽑으면 알고리듬(algorithm)으로 개개인에게 깃든 의미를 발견해 메시지 카드와 음악 처방을 제공한다. 전설 속 라 로바가 흩어진 뼈를 모아 늑대를 부활시킨 것처럼, 영혼의 뼈를 되살려 흩어진 야성과 감각을 회복하고 치유되는 경험을 하게 된다.

비디오로즈(강현우, 허철주)는 사운드와 비주얼을 중심으로 다매체 예술을 지향하는 아트 그룹이다. 동서양의 신비주의 철학과 사이키델릭, 동화적인 환상, 자연과 생태계를 비선형적 내러티브를 통해 구조화한다. 타로카드의 상징적인 그림을 텍스트로 풀어낸 스토리텔링 아트북을 출간했으며, 콜라주 형식의 애니메이션, 모션그래픽을 이용해 잃어가고 있는 자연과 원시, 생태계에 대해 표현한 영상과 음악 앨범을 발매하기도 했다.

<Room of La Loba-Revival> is inspired by La Loba, a female figure in Mexican mythology known to resurrect the wolf from a gathered pile of bones of wolves by singing in front of her bonfire. First began in 2019, <Room of La Loba> originates from a storytelling workshop using Motherpeace tarot cards. The Motherpeace tarot eliminates all European, male-centric, aristocratic, and authoritarian symbols. Instead, it uses diverse ethnic groups and naturalistic symbols, raising more artistic imagination. Produced in the form of web art, <Room of La Loba-Revival> provides a message card and musical prescription through an algorithm granting meanings inherent to each individual as the viewers draw three out of ten cards. Just like how La Loba resurrected the wolves, the work prompts the viewers the experience of recovery, a resurrection of the bones of the soul, collecting the senses and wildness that once was lost and scattered.
